iJETCON

iJETCON

Product Code: iJETCON

iJETCON is what makes our carpark ventilation solutions intelligent. The flexibility of its controls ensures that it can be configured to the varying car park requirements, with adjustments made to the ventilation as required. Its capabilities include an interface that connects to the fire panel in the building that works in conformance with the fire strategy using manual and automatic requirements.

The iJETCON (iHVAC-JC400) and expansion boards (iHVAC-JL055) can be configured to suit a range of applications by providing control of a ventilation system (exhaust/supply/ iJETFANs) by using a combination of digital or analogue outputs and fieldbus (Modbus) control signals. Up to 6 different ventilation zones can be controlled and monitored independently.

The controller can monitor multiple sensor input types and vary the operating speed of the fans based on the selected application’s adjustable demand requirements. The controller and expansion boards offer a range of inputs and outputs that can be used for Mechanical Service Switch Board (MSSB) and Fire Panel (FDCIE/FIP/FFCP) control and indication requirements of connected devices.

The system offers a touch screen interface, webpage control via Ethernet, and a range of high-level interface (HLI) options for Building Management Systems (BMS) including Modbus RTU, and Modbus TCP.
Network topology of multiple iJETFAN, Variable Speed Drive (VSD), iJETCON (iHVAC-JC4000) and Master PLC (iHVAC-JL055) as per given below.

Applications:

The iJETCON (iHVAC-JC400) can be used in Two types of Ventilation Applications.

  • Car Parking Ventilation Application
  • Demand Control Ventilation Application

Car Park Ventilation Application:

The iJETCON can monitor Carbon Monoxide (CO) in a car park and control the ventilation system per AS1668.2:2012 contaminant monitoring and ventilation control requirements. It is suited to any car park application including conventional ducted car park systems or a car park utilising iJETFANs.

Default System Configuration:

  • The main screen of the controller displays the maximum current level of CO in the car park.
  • If CO levels are below 15ppm, the ventilation system will be in standby (off).
  • If CO levels exceed 15ppm, the ventilation system will be turned on (25% of ventilation rate)
  • The controller will proportionally control the ventilation rate between 25-100% as CO levels vary between 15 & 45ppm.
  • A purge function will operate at least once in a 24hour system to provide one air change.
  • Under any fault condition the controller will run the ventilation system at 100%.
  • Nitrogen oxides (NOx) and temperature sensors can be monitored with additional demand levels set up if required by the application.
  • The ventilation system fans can be controlled by the iJETCON’s digital & analogue output signals, its fieldbus (Modbus) output signal, or a combination both. Fans can be allocated to 6 separate zones/car park levels. Programmable time schedules are also available.
  • The controller provides Mechanical Service Switch Board control (On/Auto/Off) for all fans of the same type in all zones, or if expansion boards are added fan types in individual zones can be controlled.
  • Fire Mode & Smoke Mode: AS1668.1:2015 specifies the operation requirements of car park ventilation systems in fire mode. On receipt of the General Fire Alarm (GFA) signal the Jetcon will operate the exhaust fans at 100% ventilation rate, the supply fans at 100% ventilation rate, and stop the iJETFANs (0% ventilation rate) per clause 5.5.5. If smoke is detected in the supply air ductwork the supply fan shall shut down, and on clearance of smoke restart (detection by others). These levels are configurable to your specific requirements.
  • The Jetcon also provides the Fire Panel (FIP/FDCIE/FFCP) with the required (Clause 5.5.3) manual override control for iJETFANs. Please note, according to AS1668, only one common switch is required for all iJETFANs within a fire compartment. While the standard does not require the FIP to receive run/fault indication for iJETFANs, the Jetcon can be configured to provide this.
  • iJETFANs have the option of an integrated smoke detection system to provide early shutdown of the iJETFANs in the event of a fire. If smoke is detected, the controller will operate fans as per the AS1668.1:2015 fire mode requirements independently from the FIP for 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes the dedicated fire detection/suppressant system has not detected a fire and therefore a GFA signal has not been received by the iJETCON, it will recheck for the presence of smoke. The iJETFANs will operate at minimum speed to resample the air. If no smoke is detected the iJETCON will return to its Automatic mode. If smoke is detected, it will remain in smoke mode for a further 10 minutes. If during this time a GFA signal is received the iJETCON will enter Fire Mode.
  • Fire and smoke mode fan responses and speeds are adjustable as are the smoke delay times. The iJETCON is complimented with a Touch Screen Graphic User Interface that yields an easy-to-use graphic display that shows the status of the car park and all of the connected fans, drives and sensors.

Demand Control Ventilation:

The iJETCON can control a ventilation system zone (supply/exhaust/mixer fans) to suit a range of Demand Control Ventilation (DCV) applications utilising the following sensor types or demand signals:

  • Carbon Monoxide (CO) sensors
  • Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) sensors
  • Temperature sensors
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2) sensors
  • External demand signal (0-10V or 4-20mA)
  • Direct demand from HLI
  • Touch Screen Demand

Control of the ventilation system fans can be achieved by utilising the controller’s digital & analogue outputs, its fieldbus (Modbus) output, or a combination of both.

In addition to proportional demand control via single or multiple sensor types/loops, the controller also offers two advanced temperature demand control loop applications.
