iHVAC proudly presents our highly customised mechanical switchboards, the iMSSB, because intelligent controls without a central processing unit (CPU) are like a brand-new electric vehicle that won’t start because of a software glitch. With an option to upgrade to an interactive HMI 7” touchscreen, our boards are so easy to use that one can operate without prior training.

Custom-built for every project by our highly qualified electrical engineering team at iHVAC and factory tested and pre-commissioned before despatch, the iMSSB comes with wiring diagrams and is ready to be installed by your qualified electrician. All you need is to just ‘Plug and Play’.

  • iHVAC’s switchboards, iMSSB, are painted with automotive lacquer or powder coat with a high gloss finish. All external handles, bolts and fittings are stainless steel or chromium plated.
  • iMSSB cabinets come with standard folded and welded construction and have external continuous seam welds and ground flush after fabrication. We can provide top and bottom vents with internal fine bronze wire mesh.
  • Labelling is provided on each switchboard to identify the switchboard number, controls, links, contactors, relays, starters and switches.
  • All wiring in iMSSB: instrument, indicator and control wiring are PVC insulated, stranded copper, minimum size 1.5mm2, V75 grade, 0.6/1kV.
  • All wirings are supported by ducting for groups of cables and plastic clips for single cables, identified by engraved ferrules fixed to the wire at each terminal connection and terminated with insulated crimping lugs.
  • Our switchboard, iMSSB, complies with AS 61439 and are type-tested assemblies (TTA) or partially type-tested assemblies at our factory, if above 125 amps.
  • iMSSB has a method of construction which has been type tested or derived by calculation in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS 3439.1.
  • iMSSB has IP45 degree of protection in accordance with AS 60526 where installed indoors and IP65 where installed outdoors.
  • iMSSB has circuit breakers that are automatic, inverse time, instantaneous type and complies with AS60947.2 and AS 60898.1 for miniature circuit breakers.
  • iMSSB’s residual current devices (RCDs) comply with AS/NZS 61008 and AS/NZS 61009, don’t trip on power failure, recognise and don’t trip where dc leakage currents are present.

All our iMSSBs comply with the following forms of construction described by AS/NZS 3439.1

  • Form 1 for less than 150amp capacity;
  • Form 2b for 150amp to 500amp;
  • Form 3a for 500amp to 1000amp;
  • Form 3b for greater than 1000amp;
  • Form 4a Essential services separated from non-essential services
